New Release: JIQSA Volume 3 (2018)

Dear colleagues,

I am very pleased to announce that the third volume of the Journal of the International Qur’anic Studies Association (founding editors: Michael Pregill and Vanessa De Gifis) has just been published online, with the print version due to ship soon (http://lockwoodonlinejournals.com/index.php/jiqsa). As shown by the attached Table of Contents, the issue features articles on the Meccan sanctuary in the Qur’an and in the later Islamic tradition (by Gerald Hawting and Sean Anthony), on the Qur’an’s intertextual links to Biblical and Syriac literature (by David Bertaina and Zohar Hadromi-Allouche), and on the Qur’an’s early manuscript transmission (by Adam Bursi). Saqib Hussain and I feel privileged to have been treated to sneak previews of these five essays while seeing them through press, and I hope that you will find them similarly exciting.

Best wishes,

Nicolai Sinai
